I tested 5 brokers for 6 months each — final ranking

Active trader for 4 years. Used each broker as my primary account for at least 6 months. Here's my honest ranking:

1. IBKR Pro — 9/10

+: Best execution, unbeatable commissions, global access, solid API. -: TWS interface is archaic, customer support is average.

2. Tastytrade — 8.5/10

+: Best options platform, built-in courses, community. -: Execution slightly below IBKR, no forex.

3. Schwab/ThinkorSwim — 8/10

+: Incredible research tools, TOS is powerful, integrated banking. -: A bit slow since the TD merger.

4. Webull — 6.5/10

+: Clean interface, good charting tools, fractional shares. -: PFOF, limited order types, no futures.

5. Robinhood — 5/10

+: Pretty interface, integrated crypto. -: Payment for order flow, mediocre execution, dangerous gamification.

Agree on IBKR #1. One thing people overlook: price improvement on IBKR saves me $200-400/month on 100+ trades. It adds up fast.

Robinhood at 5/10 is still too generous. PFOF makes them billions — you're the product, not the client.

For international traders, is IBKR still the obvious choice? Or are there real alternatives now?

IBKR is still king for international traders. Saxo Bank is the alternative if you want premium support but commissions are 3x higher.

You didn't mention Moomoo? I've been on it for a year and the interface is better than Robinhood with decent charting tools.

Didn't test Moomoo long enough to rank it. From what I've seen, it's an improved Robinhood but still PFOF. Execution is a step below IBKR.
